United Methodism’s Constitution envisioned an inclusive church, but today the issue of human sexuality is challenging this inclusiveness. This three-part seminar will address critical topics about how the church might move forward.
As the UMC enters a time of discernment and decision-making about the future of the denomination Rev. Dr. Harvey Martz and Rev. Dr. Don Messer will unpack the upcoming General Conference and options for the denomination. They will also focus specifically on the issue of human sexuality and inclusiveness in The UMC, including perspectives on how to interpret scripture.
The final week will include the St. Andrew clergy as a panel, talking through the impacts for our congregation and the possibilities for the future of the denomination.
Request childcare at least one week in advance for this series.
