Family Promise has successfully acquired funds to house families in motels and provide grocery cards for these families. These grants were awarded from Federal and State money for COVID relief.
Family Promise will be able to house families in motels until at least June and hopefully for the rest of 2021. During the pandemic the families have experienced a similar success rate as in past years – 74% of families have exited the program into stable housing.
In addition to the motels, three families are living at FP House, a large house in Capitol Hill that Family Promise is leasing from another organization. Family Promise has set up a schedule for churches, like us, to provide meals and groceries for the families living at FP House.
In addition, we need a volunteer to shop for groceries – a list will be provided. Sign up below to volunteer.
There is also an ongoing need for quarters so the families can do laundry and grocery gift cards. These can be dropped off at the church c/o Jenn Kloeppel – Family Promise.
We are providing groceries and meals for FP House the week of May 16 – 22. We are in need of gas and grocery gift cards, as well as nonperishable food items. These items can be dropped off at St Andrew labeled ‘Family Promise’Sign Up
